Cold and rain call for...
...more waffles with hot cherries!
These are homemade. I made them with lactose-free milk, since I'm lactose intolerant, and instead of the red goop that usually accompanies restaurant-bought waffles, I simmered the not-too-sweet cherries lightly, and added a bit of cornstarch to thicken the juice. The waffle is lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Yummy!

Yum, I've been on a waffle kick myself--adding a little ground flax seed to the batter to make them just a little bit healthier...then--maple syrup--great cold weather breakfast (sometimes supper, too!) I keep my waffle iron "at the ready!"
