In Germany, upon birth of their children, moms receive an A5 size booklet that is called a "Mutterpass". In it growth, height, weight, illness, medication, vaccination etc. is documented at each doctor's visit.
Understandably, these booklets become dog-eared fairly quickly, so a friend of a friend who's expecting a baby boy requested a fabric cover to protect it. This is what I came up with. I cut out the elephant from the zoo animal fabric and appliquéd that on the solid lime-coloured fabric. The cover is fully lined and has a small pocket inside to store the sonograms. I had a lot of fun making this cover!

That is SO adorable! Lucky mom and baby. I would order one from you but...my daughter is 20. Maybe I will need one many years from now (I hope!) for her child. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThis is so very cute! The blue elephant goes very well with the lime green fabric and the overall design is very cheerful!

I remember a little blue book that I got when both of my kids were born. It had all the records for the shots and doctor visits with height and weight. It was definitely dog-eared after a couple years :) That cover is adorable. too bad no one ever thought of that back when I had those little books.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea (and cover)! Like Ann, I wish I'd had those for my daughters' books.
ReplyDeleteThat is simply darling! :)
ReplyDeleteOh boy! this is so cute... the elephant is even smiling.. hehheheehe.. it sure would be a very useful book cover :)
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I did not get a book when the kids were born at that was just 2-3 years ago! I have had to manage with a binder--not as cute.
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable fabric! What a fun cover for her book!
