Once in a while I reward myself for a job well done. My reward was a book I had been eyeing for some time now: Flea Market Chic by Liz Bauwens and Alexandra Campbell. The job in question was finishing up thirty sleepmasks as guest favors in record time!
Flea Market Chic is a charming decorating style that elevates flea market finds to must-have design elements. Some of you might know I love going to flea markets. The best ones are mostly across the border in the Netherlands and Belgium and thankfully I don't live that far from either.

some design ideas from the book / ein paar Design Ideen aus dem Buch
Some of my favourite collectibles are floral patterned dishes and every type of container from bowls to vases. Vintage flatware is also pretty much sought after.

Meistens schaue ich nach floralem Vintage-Geschirr und auch Schalen, Schüsseln, Vasen und verschnörkeltes Besteck finde ich super toll!
Here are some of my own flea market finds / Hier einige Flohmarkt Schätze, die ich gefunden habe
How about you? Do you visit flea markets and what do you usually look for? Anyway, thanks for reading along. And a big welcome to my lovely new readers too! Have a terrific day!
Beautiful! I love your flea market chic!!
ReplyDeleteFun book! Congrats on the large order! And what a great way to reward yourself :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book, love the look! Congrats on finishing up your order in record time!!
ReplyDeleteFelice weekend per Te....ciao
ReplyDeleteI've seen that book before! congrats on your order :)
ReplyDeleteI love flea markets! I actually sell at one every summer, and I have to use all of my willpower to not spend all of the money I make that day, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThat book looks cool. I love your flea market finds!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a book I could get into! I love to wonder around flea markets, or old vintage stores in New England, or my Mother-in-law's place for that matter! :) great book - will have to check that out
ReplyDeleteI like flea market and shabby style. I find it somehow comforting and fun to find that little piece to add to the house that really is not perfect and still looks great. I look forward to when we can replace the living room sofas. I want a different look than the manly-leather-dark-cave look.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely book! I love finding cheap older stuff at flea markets, has so much more character than new mass-produced furniture:)

What a fun topic for a book!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful book! It sounds like you did deserve a reward- what a feat!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I need that book. I love flea markets, garage sales, and thrift stores. So many fantastic finds. I love the pretty dish set with the pink flowers, great find.
ReplyDeleteI go to thrift stores.
ReplyDeleteI love glass dishes so I always look at those.
Last year I bought wool sweaters which I've felted. I made some mittens out of one. (blogged about it) I hope to do more projects with them.
I go to flea markets and thrift stores but never find anything since I can't see the beauty in the midst of the mess. I sure wish I could and I admire those like you who can though!
ReplyDeletemy wife really love you post... she likes decorations and stuff like this...
ReplyDeleteLovely collection of flea market finds, and that book looks great.
