Hi everybody! Happy New Year!
"Resolutions" is such an ugly word imho., rather I have plans and dreams :)I'm fairly sure that I can implement most of my plans and should any one of my dreams become reality this year, well then I'd be a happy camper!
This month my BBA teammate Edi @MemoriesforLife asked us to blog about our plans for 2014.
Here's a list of some of the things I plan to do this year:
- implement a healthy work/life balance, which means...
- ...exercise more
- read more books
- keep in touch with my faraway friends and family on a regular basis
- increase my activities concerning animal rights
- practice drawing with pencils/charcoal
- come up with unique DIY ideas and share them on my blog
- sew at least one new item of clothing per season just for me :)
- continue to improve my photographic skills and build my portfolio
Hallo Mädels! Frohes neues Jahr!
"Vorsätze" ist so ein unschönes Wort. Da hören sich Pläne und Träume viel besser an :) Wie passend, dass die Challenge für Januar von Etsy Teammitglied Edi @MemoriesforLife lautet, unsere Pläne in einem Blogeintrag mitzuteilen.Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass ich die meisten meiner Pläne dieses Jahr umsetzen kann, und vielleicht geht ja auch der eine oder andere Traum in Erfüllung! Auf jeden Fall bin ich startklar für das neue Jahr - das reimt sich sogar ;-)
Meine Pläne für dieses Jahr lauten wie folgt:
- ein ausgewogenes Verhältnis zwischen Berufs- und Privatleben einzuhalten, was bedeutet...
- ...mehr Bewegung in den Alltag einzubinden
- mehr Bücher zu lesen
- Regelmäßigen Kontakt zu meiner/n Familie/Freunden, die weit weg wohnen pflegen
- mich noch stärker für den Tierschutz einsetzen
- mit Blei- bzw. Kohlestift zeichnen lernen
- neue, originelle DIY Ideen entwickeln und auf dem Blog zeigen
- mindestens ein neues Teil pro Saison nur für mich nähen :)
- mich weiterhin mit den verschiedenen Techniken der Fotografie beschäftigen

Happy New Year! I'd love to see the DIY projects you come up with. I don't have special plans, like every year I want to read more books and make more trips to museums :-)

I agree, resolution is a rather ugly word. I like plans and dreams though. I plan and dream all the time but I'm not very good at following the plan...lol

I don't like the word "resolution" either! It puts too much pressure on people to change immediately. Setting goals to work on over the whole year is a much healthier way to go.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with work/life balance, too, especially since so much of my work involves sitting in front of the computer. Sigh!
Your plans sounds sensible--and I bet you can accomplish them all. Do we get to hear your dreams, too? ;-)
ReplyDeleteOoo..I love these ideas! Especially making something just for you each season. I'm trying to do that for myself this season and failing miserably. Every time I make something I always want to give it away!

I like to set goals, not make resolutions, for the new year. I think if you make a list of fun things to accomplish, then you are more likely to achieve them.

Oh, I couldn't agree more! I try to avoid the word resolutions. I feel like it just sets us up for failure! Instead I have goals. But I'm not sharing very many of them on my blog until they are in the works! Have a great new year!

Viel habe ich mir nicht für das neue Jahr vorgenommen. Etwas mehr Zeit für mich nehmen, aber auch Zeit für Freunde und Familie und natürlich mich weiterentwickeln im Fotografieren.

ReplyDeleteI love the one about sewing something just for you! Now that I'm down 35 pounds, I should sew myself some clothes that aren't quite so baggy! (Ha!) I haven't done much garment sewing for myself over the past few years. (Perhaps because I'd have needed to confront my "measurements"?) And it was so much more fun to sew cute things for the granddaughters.
Happy New Year Duni! I know you will reach your goals! I agree about resolutions. The statistics show that most people give up on theirs only 3 weeks into the new year! My 2014 will be crazy with a plan of reaching goals and dreams including going full time self employed, selling my house, moving in with Jim and hopefully relocating to Florida.

I rarely make resolutions
ReplyDeleteand if I do I stick to it in short periods of time too... yeah I'm a quitter when it comes to resolutions.... Ahhh but dreaming, I'm great at that.

ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! I especially like the one about sewing something for yourself -- it seems we never do that for ourselves -- it's always for our shops! I feel guilty if I even think of crocheting or cross stitching something for myself... but I've had an ongoing conversation with myself to do just that!!
