A few of my lovely readers have asked for a life update and I will get to that further down this post. But first let me show you my simple yet cute idea for an advent calendar. These mini jars add a cheerful pop of color throughout December and can be filled with whatever you like! All you need are 24 miniature jars and a sheet of stickers with numbers on them.
Some ideas for filling the jars
sewing enthusiast ~ buttons, lace, ribbons, trims, tape, and other haberdashery
*chocolate lover ~ assortment of Belgian chocolates
*sweet tooth ~ favorite candy
fashionista ~ earrings, rings, brooches, small accessories
*gourmet ~ specialty jams, honey, spreads
or you can fill each jar with a special note for your loved one!
*remember to wash the jars if you'll be using them for edibles
Now for a quick life update. As mentioned in my previous post I'm trying to get off of the strong meds, which is easier said than done. I have since seen the naturopath again and will need to make adjustments to my current lifestyle, which includes reduced working hours. Also, it seems I'm allergic to some veggies, so I will have to leave those out of my diet for a while. I have been taking the natural remedies for a couple of weeks now and my overall pain has decreased by about thirty percent. I never really know in what condition I will wake up each morning, but I'm hoping by continuing with the natural prescription the pain will lessen even more. Today might be Friday the 13th, but for me it's a good day, so I was able to write this blog post! My hubby on the other hand isn't doing too well. He might be admitted to a specialist clinic, which has me concerned. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. Sammy's scar is healing up nicely and his furs have started to grow back. I'm monitoring his weight, since he seems to have less of an appetite since the operation, but otherwise he's his normal self. So thankful for that. I don't know about you, but 2017 has turned out to be a crappy year for us over here. I guess I can scratch all the big plans I'd made for the holiday season. At this point I'm just glad if I can make it until the end of the year somewhat pain free. Again thank you for reading along and your kind messages. Appreciate it so much!
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY 💕 Happy Crafting!

Those jars are so sweet! What a great idea! I'm glad you're having less pain and are finding more out about your health. I'm sorry your husband is still feeling poorly. Sending prayers for both of you. Glad Sammy is back to his normal self. 2017 has been a bad year for sure. I'm sending you positive thoughts and keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI always love your advent calendar ideas. This one is really cute. The jars can then be re-purposed later. I am sorry to hear you and your husband still aren't well. It sounds like Sammy is the lucky one of the family. I continued to send my well wishes your way.
ReplyDeleteThose jars are a great idea and so cute too. Glad to hear that the natural remedies are working for you. Hope you, your husband and Sammy are all felling better real soon. Sending healing wishes and happy thoughts your way.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about everything you're going though Duni. As someone with an autoimmune disease I can relate to chronic pain (although I've been doing well for the past few years), and it is really challenging. I hope everything is better soon. And I love this advent calendar idea! So cute!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Duni,
Liebe Grüße an Dich!

Hallo liebe Duni,
Hi Duni, I was just thinking about you when your newsletter popped into my inbox, so I thought I'd visit your blog to catch up. I'm so sorry to hear you've had a bad year but glad to hear your pain has decreased and Sammy is better. I hope your husband recovers quickly too. The advent calendar is a lovely idea - I wish I hadn't recycled so many jars now!! It's a good idea to add non-edible gifts for children (and adults!) as they have so many sweets and chocolates at this time of year. Wishing you all the very best, Roz xxx
ReplyDeleteHello Roz, thank you for visiting my blog and your kind words! Appreciate it so much. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, best Duni x
